Altre città

I raise my camera when I am attracted by some color or play of the light. Or perhaps some pattern or a composition that suggests an emotion related to the place where I am. So I don't have the traditional skyscrapers if I photograph New York or just the colosseum in Rome. I shoot some landmarks too, but then I try to capture a small detail or a specific moment to give a more rounded representation of the place - like a boat rowing by under Ponte Vecchio in Florence, or a long exposure of blurred people moving about in front of San Marco. Albeit I prefer photographs with people in the frame, sometimes the place itself needs to be pictured alone and at peace.

So here are a few shots from cities I visited. Some of them I visited more than once like Copenaghen and Venice, some I visited only once or a couple of times and I need to go back - like Lisbon and Lecce,  Matera and Tokyo and New York. There are many photographs of Parma where I lived for 20 years before moving to Rome.
